And so this is Xmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Xmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
(John Lennon)

Its that time of year when most are looking forward to that special day with family, seeing the joy on childrens faces as they open presents, mothers wondering just how their going to fit that bird in the oven, fathers snoozing in the armchair during the queens speech.............

But, for others christmas has no cheer!
The homeless are still homeless, maybe they might have got into a 'hostel' for xmas if they can find a place, alot will still be bedding down for the night on christmas eve in doorways, derelict buildings etc. Others are the so called invisible homeless, families in b&b accomodation, those in womans refuges, couch surfers etc etc.
Then there are our old folk, some without family, some abandoned, some isolated, others left to see out their days in often uncaring 'care homes' where pound signs mean alot more than a smile on a face.
And there are those that just survive on the edge of society, some suffering mental illness, who just have no one to turn to and have been abandoned by our so called caring society.
They all of course have one thing in common, Loneliness!

So dear reader, take a minute or two to take a look around you, maybe you could take a xmas card over the road to the old lady in the bungalow, enquire how she is, ask if she needs anything?
When you see the homeless person sitting in the cold, there are alternatives to giving them money, for instance, why not go get them a hot drink, youll be suprised how welcome it is.
What about that fella thats moved in next door, the one you rarely see, perhaps you could leave a little present/card for him at the door, it may be the only one he gets.
For the more adventurous how about making an extra plate on christmas day and dropping it round.

I could go on and on but in essence what I'm saying is in this season of goodwill to all men and in the spirit of giving please take time to think of those less fortunate than you, after all, This Is Christmas. File-Sharing News And Information
