A warden at a former children's home in Jersey has appeared in court charged with a series of indecent assaults against children in the 1970s.

Gordon Wateridge, 78, from St Clement, worked at the Haut de la Garenne children's home.

He denies 21 counts of indecent assault and assault including 19 indecent assaults on five girls under 16.

He was bailed until a hearing on 10 August at Jersey's Royal Court. None of the victims can be named.
